Entering community is a process of becoming aware of the values, leadership and history of a community; building or engaging community is putting those values into action, often questioning or even challenging existing values; exiting community is ensuring that all who participate feel recognized and can identify what they learned from the experience.

SUMMER LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

The SLI is a 10-day intensive that connects dance professionals, community-based artists and activists in a learning experience that leverages the arts as a vehicle for social activism and civic engagement.

GENERATIVE DANCER

The Generative Dancer is a multi-day experience for intermediate/advanced choreographers and performers who want to deepen their practice through an immersive learning environment.

BOLD

BOLD is a series of community engagement workshops that are deeply rooted in UBW's core values and decades of experience working in communities. Universities, nonprofits, K-12 schools, businesses and more invite UBW to their communities to conduct these unique workshops involving movement and conversation.
